I got a call from a friend telling me of Gerry Ryans sudden passing just before it broke on the news that day. Like anyone who ever listened to G Ryan this was news that was hard to take-in…it just didn’t make sense or compute for a while. As a former RTE colleague Gerry & I were not at all close friends but I truly admired Gerry’s on-air skills & his interviews, they’ll stand amongst the best I’ve ever heard.
Ciara & I have signed the book of condolences & extend our sympathies to all of the Ryan Family.
